Meet Kim (mama bear)
In the early 2000’s I started attending Step classes and group fitness classes with my daughter in tow. It was a great way to connect with others and feel healthier physically and mentally. Soon after I started participating in triathlons. I found so much satisfaction in the training for these as well as encouraging others to give them a try. In 2005 I became certified group fitness instructor. The Kenora Recreation Center underwent its huge renovation and I began my teaching career. Since then I also certified as a personal trainer. I have expanded my certifications with studies in active aging, nutrition, clean eating, and much more. It gives me great joy to lead a group of people through a class and see them revel in their achievements. I believe that everyone should feel comfortable working within their abilities and leave a class feeling successful. I workout to maintain my physical and mental health and if I can help others do the same then I leave feeling successful. Doing this work fills my heart and makes me feel complete. There is a special bond with the lovely ladies who join me. We are forever friends. Our journey in life should include maintaining physical strength, capacity and endurance... but prioritize our mental well-being. I love helping people be active and nurture themselves... mind, body and soul.
